A spin on an exercise I enjoy doing as a warm up. Draw a random shape and build something out of its silhouette, this time I used random dabs of watercolor. It helps to bring a bit more randomness to the party than straight pencil shapes which tend to take on the same characteristics after a while. Other materials include Kosher Salt and white paint.

Q:austen, mind if i ask you for some inking tips? i'm trying to get to it right now and controlling line weight, or even just getting things in the right place takes a lot of time and patience, and the result is not even acceptable.
‘ I’m not the best at relaying thoughts through text so im not sure how helpful my tips will be, but i’ll give it a shot! Inking is a fickle process for sure… ‘
